Asking a girl out to lunch?

I just asked this question but I guess I didn't properly phrase it. So there's this girl at work who I want to ask out but she's leaving for a different store soon so I wont see her again at work. Would it be weird if I text her today and ask her to meet me after her shift outside the building? I do not work today, she does so I would meet her there. Would it be ok to say " I want to talk to you about something in person, would you meet me at 8 outside our job?" She's probably going to know I'm gonna ask her though if I want to meet up. This is the only idea I can think of to ask in person
