Cell phone charger port is broke. please help asap!?

So I have a Sprint Incognito, and almost every single sprint phone I've ever had, the charger port has broken on it and finally it went on this one. I desperately need my phone or tomorrow morning, and I know that you can use an old USB cable to charge it with but is it safe to use an old Ipod USB? I don't want to ruin my USB for nothing, and if it does work, how long does the charge on my phone last for?
